Privacy Policy
This page is the privacy and cookie disclosure for BookIntelReport.com (“the Service”). The Service is operated by Taciturn Studios LLC. It provides manuscript intelligence reports for self-published authors on Amazon KDP.
Privacy questions and data-subject requests go to support@bookintelreport.com. Our registered contact address is available on request at that same address.
1. Who we are
BookIntelReport.com is a publishing-intelligence product. We analyze manuscript and listing information you submit so we can return keyword, category, comparable-title, advertising, and related research. We do not sell your personal data.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, and authentication credentials provided during sign-up or login.
- Manuscript data: book title, genre, target markets, and the manuscript file (PDF or DOCX) you upload for analysis. Manuscript files are processed to generate your report and are not retained beyond 30 days after report generation.
- Payment data: Stripe processes payment card information directly. We store a Stripe Customer ID and transaction reference — never raw card numbers or CVV.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, report generation timestamps, and browser or device information collected through analytics cookies after you accept non-essential cookies.
- Communications: email address and preferences if you subscribe to the Director’s Report newsletter.
- Advertising data: on public articles and other content pages, Google and its advertising partners may collect cookie and device identifiers as described in the cookie disclosure below.
3. How we use your data
- Create and manage your account and authenticate sessions.
- Generate your manuscript intelligence report and deliver it to your dashboard.
- Process payments securely via Stripe.
- Send transactional emails (report ready, payment confirmation) via Resend.
- Send the Director’s Report newsletter if you opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time.
- Measure how public pages are used and, on content pages, serve advertising through Google AdSense.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our legal bases are:
- Contract performance: processing needed to deliver the report service you purchased.
- Legitimate interests: service improvement, fraud prevention, and securing the Service.
- Consent: newsletter subscription, non-essential analytics cookies, and non-essential advertising cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: tax records and fraud investigation.
5. Cookies and advertising disclosure
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are required for the Service to function. Others are optional analytics or advertising cookies.
- Essential cookies: session authentication and security. These cannot be disabled without breaking sign-in and checkout.
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics (G-LLYC44D03T) to understand how visitors use the site. These are intended for visitors who accept cookies.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): on blog posts, the article archive, and other public content pages we load Google AdSense publisher ID
ca-pub-1051825252184436. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this and/or other sites.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also learn how Google uses data from partner sites in Google’s advertising technologies policy and Google’s privacy policy.
You can manage cookie preferences from the banner shown on your first visit, or by clearing your browser cookies at any time. Declining non-essential cookies is intended to limit analytics and personalized advertising cookies; essential cookies remain.
Sister book-publishing sites in the Taciturn Studios network remain book-only tools and are not part of this site’s AdSense inventory.
6. Data retention
- Account data: until you delete your account or request erasure.
- Manuscript files: deleted within 30 days of report generation.
- Report data: retained in your dashboard while your account is active.
